In the world of Thera, humans are the main occupiers of the planet. Despite this, there are a few other humanoid species that walk the planet, and a list of all species and their descriptions can be found here.
Angels
As one might expect, angels are creatures of light and make their home in the spiritual realm in the sky. On Thera, angels are seen as messengers and guardians, although their friendliness and kindness changes from angel to angel. The majority of the higher angels are cold, uncaring creatures, whilst the less important ones have a tendency to be friendlier to others. Angels are typically winged creatures and have pale or light colouring, typically being classed as blonde-haired and blue-eyed creatures, although this is not necessarily true. Their wings are typically white, unless they are fallen angels – in which case, their wings will be black rather than white. Angels have a tendency to be able to manipulate light rather than one of the four elements, although a few have been known to have an elemental power.
Demons
As the opposite of angels, demons are creatures of darkness and chose to lurk in the spiritual realm of the underworld when they are not mingling with humans. Demons are seen as tricksters and troublemakers on Thera, but not exactly true evil – just creatures looking for a little mischief and fun in their own way. Demons have a tendency to take a human form, but they often have a dark appearance about them, with dark hair and eye colouring. Some of them have wings, which are normally black, leathery things in comparison to the feathered white of angels, although fallen angels are sometimes classed and demons and will have feathered wings. Demons can manipulate darkness and shadows rather than one of the four elements, although some have been known to have an elemental power, the most common being fire.
Humans
Quite typically, humans are the most abundant species of the planet Thera. They are similar to Earth humans, with hair colouring ranging from black, to brown, to blonde, to red, to grey, and eye colouring limited to brown, blue, green and grey. Typically, humans range from anywhere between four foot and six foot in size, with some smaller or taller depending on their age and their genes. Humans are resourceful creatures, making tools to aid them in constructing buildings, hunting for food or creating clothes, amongst other things. Once in a while, a few humans are born with powers that allow them to control one of the four elements, or even a few possess psychic powers, such as telepathy or telekinesis.
Nymphs
Although similar in appearance to humans, nymphs have a few differences that set them apart from those that they resemble. They have pointed ears and occasionally their hair may appear to be a colour that one would not normally see in hair, likewise with their eye colouring. Nymphs are spirits of nature and although the most common nymphs are those of forests and streams, there are others that can be found if one searches hard enough. Nymphs have the ability to control one of the four elements, although the most common of these are water and earth, but there are fire and wind nymphs too.

Earth Nymphs (Gnomes)
Earth nymphs, commonly called gnomes, are the most abundant of the nymph sub-groups. They appear as very short child-like creatures with pointed ears and wide eyes. Their hair is often a natural human color, though sometimes it can be green. Their eyes are the same. Although they are very small, they are the strongest of the sub-races. They are creative beings who excel at forging and weaving. They have the power to manipulate the earth and plants. They are timid creatures who live deep within the forests. They have the ability to breed with humans. The result of these pairing usually ends up with a much taller creature with the pointed ears of a gnome. Their powers are diluted and sometimes non-existent. These offspring often lose the ability to never grow old.
Air Nymphs (Sylphs)
Sylphs are rare and flighty creatures. They appear as cherubic humans with the wings of butterflies or dragonflies. It is said to be good luck to capture one of these creatures, for they are fast and have the ability to turn invisible. Young Sylphs don’t have the ability to fly, for their wings are too small and weak. They have the ability to manipulate the wind and are the quickest of the nymph sub-races. Cross human pairings result in taller and less frail creatures, but these creatures do not have the ability to fly. They still present wings, but they are too weak to lift such a large body. Sylphs usually live around canyons or in open fields where the wind is the most strong.
Fire Nymphs (Salamanders)
Salamanders are the rarest of the nymphs. They usually live underground, close to the heat at the center of the earth. Some may present themselves above ground, but rarely. These creatures tend to look like very beautiful men and women, but this is an illusion. Their true forms are dragon like, with forked tongues and black eyes. Salamanders have control over fire and are the most willful of the nymphs. They never back down from a fight, even when all the odds are against them. These creatures tend to have a temper and like to hoard treasures. The cross-human form are the strangest. Many times they appear as humans with horns and leathery dragon wings.
Water Nymphs (Undines)
Undines usually appear as young humans with webbed hands and toes. The rarer types appear as half human and half fish. Undines are the second most common form of Nymph. Their hair can be anywhere from seaweed green to oceanic blue. Their eyes are very large for seeing in murky water. Their skin is thick and sometimes carries a bluish tinge. Undines have the ability to breath and control water. They can live under water and are excellent swimmers. They can communicate through echo-location. Undines are said to be the wisest of all the nymphs. Cross human forms are the least noticeable of all. Most of the time the child will just be born with thin membranes between their fingers.
