Proper Introductions

[Virgo]

Well, as we've got several members now, I was wondering if we should start sharing a bit about ourselves. =] I'm Kat, the administrator of the forum, and although I'm currently going by the alias Virgo on here, I go by other names, including Kattius, Katti, Kattikat, Kaatish, Captain Jakkerkat and Kazamilee. =) I'm fifteen and I'm from an obscure little town in England.

Hmm, where to begin? When I find something that I like, I get terribly attached to it and insist on reaping it for all it's worth until I forget about it. xD Um... anyway, some of the stuff that are like...

Television-wise, I don't watch a lot of it, but my favourite shows would have to be, in no particular order except for the first, Doctor Who, Torchwood, Primeval, Top Gear, Heroes, Battlestar Galactica, Danny Phantom, Xiaolin Showdown, Firefly, Monty Python's Flying Circus, Powerpuff Girls Z, Kyou Kara Maoh!, Sailor Moon, Chobits, and my absolute favourite anime, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. =]

Movie-wise, I like a lot of science-fiction, fantasy and comedy movies. I am not a fan of horror because I have an overactive imagination. So, some of my favourite movies are the Matrix (but not really it's sequels), V for Vendetta, Constantine, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Beetlejuice, Big Fish, Serenity, X-Men, Spider-Man, Lilo and Stitch and plenty of others.

I read too many books for me to count them all, but my favourites at the moment have to be the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, which is my all time favourite, Good Omens, and the Discworld books. My favourite authors are Douglas Adams and Terry Pratchett, but I'm a fan of Phillip Pullman, Garth Nix, Trudi Canvan, and Bernard Cornwell.

As for music... my favourite bands are Foo Fighters and Lostprophets, but I like a lot of other bands and singers, including (but not limited to): Nickelback, HARD-Fi, Aerosmith, Queen, Def Leppard, Goldfrapp, Anastacia, A, Bryan Adams, Bon Jovi, U2, Oasis, T.Rex, My Chemical Romance, Ash, Madina Lake, Maxïmo Park (who honestly do not have one bad song at all, I swear), the Fratellis, the Feeling, Feeder, Embrace, and plenty more that I can't even think of at the moment. I like a lot of music and if my Dad likes it, chances are I probably will too. I'm also a fan of J-Pop and Anime music, so Hirano Aya (:D HARUHI) is high on my liking list. :)

I'm also a video-games person. In our house, we have a PC (with plenty of games for it, mostly RTS games), a Nintendo Wii, a Nintendo GameCube, a Nintendo DS, a Nintendo GameBoy Advance, a Nintendo GameBoy Color (somewhere), an X-Box, an X-Box 360, and an old Playstation (and hopefully a Playstation 2 sometime soon -_- I want to play Final Fantasy XII and Kingdom Hearts). :) I still play Pokemon games and I quite like Final Fantasy too. I'm a fan of the Sonic the Hedgehog games and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney is seriously one of the greatest games you'll ever get for the DS. ;) So is Trauma Center: Under the Knife. Hehehe. Also, I download emulators and ROMs. Yup. :D I am a fountain of geekery.

But anyway, that's me, in a not-quite nutshell. What about you guys?

Hm... you can call me Maya. I am sixteen and I was born on July fourth. I currently live in Naples, Italy, but I have never lived anywhere for more than three years since I was born. I have been to seven countries and thirty-two states. I have lived in Germany, Italy, Michigan, Maryland, Colorado, New York and Wisconsin. This is the first place that I have lived that is warm all year ^_^

I don’t watch too much TV, because we only have six channels. We don’t feel like extending our cable to watch Italian shows, but from what we have in English, I really like House M.D., Bones, Grey’s Anatomy and CSI. See a pattern? Those are the only types of shows we have! I watch a few shows over the internet, mostly anime. My favorite shows are Chobits, Fruits Basket, Inuyasha, Sailor Moon and Card Captor Sakura. Yeah, I’m pretty girly =P

I play video games a lot. My favorites are Golden Sun, Final Fantasy, Dark Cloud, Tales of Phantasia and Kingdom Hearts. I used to play a lot of online games, but I found that they got boring really fast. Now I just RP online.

In real life I am a Cancer. When I was little I was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome, which is a high function autistic disorder. So, I am not sociable at all... Why did I chose to play the social-oriented of the zodiac signs? Well, I thought Gemini was a much more “fun” sign. Cancer is all about the emo-ness. We are supposed to be shy and reserved, but brimming with hidden emotions. (Not me. I am quiet and reserved, because I don’t really have emotions)

I don’t like emo characters. They annoy me. For all of my of role playing, I have always played children. I am not sure why, but I think they are the most fun and interesting characters to play. I wanted to play a immature little brat ^_^

=] Hello, Maya! I like your name. It's very pretty. It also reminds me of Phoenix Wright, as there's a girl (a spirit channeler, too) called Maya in those games. ^^; I hope you don't mind.

I'm a Virgo and a Libra in real life. I was born on the end of Virgo and the start of Libra. (September 23rd.) I actually fit Virgo quite a bit, although I have a tendency to be quite hyperactive and loud when I'm with my friends. =]

Yay! =D Somebody likes lemons! I don't know a lot of people that can stomach them - I like them, but they're not my favourite fruit (those would have to be cherries). My favourite colour is... blue (any shade, mostly royal), followed by purple, then neon green and finally orange. My favourite number is 42 and my favourite subject is Art.

I like cherries too, but I like sour things better than sweet things. My mom says it’s because whenever I cried when I was a baby, she would put lemon juice on my pacifier. She said it would shut me up for awhile. She’s so nice =P

Your lucky number is the inverse of my number! It is also, apparently, the answer to the life, the universe and everything! I like art too, but I suck at it and my last art teacher was a Nazi. I like psychology teachers, because they all seem to be insane... I wonder why...

You can call me Lena, though it is nowhere close to my real name, I just like it a lot. I'm seventeen and from a small town in Canada and my birthday is May 19.

And now for the stuff I like...

TV wise. I don't watch a whole lot of tv anymore. My favourite shows include: Grey's Anatomy, Criminal Minds, CSI - but only the original one, the spinoffs just aren't as good, Numbers, a little Star Trek, and occasionally if I have time, Battlestar Galactica. As for anime shows I watch Gundam Seed, though I have to rely on my friend to record it for me, as I don't have the channel it's on..

Movie wise, it's pretty much anything, except for horror, the last horror movie I watched kept me from sleeping for a week. My favourites are the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Harry Potter, Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean, Spider-Man and Chronicles of Narnia.

I read far too many books for me to list them all, but my favourites are The Abhorsen trilogy by Garth Nix, Poison Study and Magic Study by Maria Snyder, the Lord of the Rings, anything by Tamora Pierce, The Keys of the Kingdom series by Garth Nix, and a couple others whose titles escape me at the moment.

My favourite bands are Savage Garden, Nickleback, Michael Buble and Dido at the moment. And I like a lot of the music from the 60s to the 80s.

I love video games. For games systems all we have is an old Playstation and the computer. My favourite games at the moment are The Legend of the Dragoon for playstation, World of Warcraft, Age of Empires and Age of Mythology.

My favourite food is chocolate.

=] AGE OF EMPIREESSSS! x] And Age of Mythology. Hahaha, I love those games. =) They make me smile/laugh/etc. D: Never had the chance to play WoW, but I have Warcraft III (and the Frozen Throne) and they are love. <3

And I've found that Art teachers are, in general, either crazy or scary. Or both. =o There's only one decent art teacher at our school and because we have a rota, we've already had him this year. =\ But we're doing photography with the teacher we have at the moment. YAY!

TV== I love Wolf's rain. It is so amazing, Blue is my fave charrie, and I love her to bits. Doctor who is great, I like most Sci-Fi/Fantasy.

Hi, you can call me by either April or Cancer although on here I'll be roleplaying as Cancer. Um, I was born on July 22nd which makes me a Cancer/Leo mix but I'm definitely mostly Cancer but I have a tendency to sneak in some Leo-ness occasionally. I live in Australia in the far over state Queensland where droughts are currently very active and our water restrictions sky-high. I love living in Australia though, although I've never been anywhere else. Apart from this year!! I'm going to Japan in September ^_^ I was special selected along with other 12 students in the school to go.

I don't play videogames all that much apart from Sims 2 :-D I love it. Its just awesome lol. Ummm yeah, not much on the video game subject. TV...well....as in TV shows I like Home and Away, The Simpsons, McLeoud's Daughters, SUPERNATURAL ( whooo they're so hot lol ) and occasionally I'll sit down and watch Big Brother but it doesn't interest me all that much.

My favourite movies are Happily Ever After ones. Like...I love fairytale cartoons and movies that end happy. Like, She's the Man, A Cinderella Story blah blah blah. I really don't like horror. I don't get nightmares but I think about it all too much lol. Comedy are alright except I only laugh in the weird parts that aren't supposed to be funny. Like, if someone's voice cracks and it goes high I laugh really hard. I just find weird bits interesting like in Madagascar. The way the lemurs look. I couldn't watch all of it for like...a week because they looked to cute and funny.

My hobbies would have to be...graphic designing, web designing, internet, MSN, shopping, roleplaying, reading and writing. I LOVE writing stories. I can't help it. I do it heaps in my spare time and although I never show it to anyone I have secret dreams that it'll one day get published.

I don't really care for music. I don't keep up with the times but I like techno. LOVE IT! Its awesome lol. But yeah, music isn't really my strong point.

Career wise I want to become a lawyer, and then a politician and later on....DON"T LAUGH! I want to become Australia's PM. =) I enjoy psychology.. I find it fascinating.
