After some thought, I’ve decided that it’s time to start asking for moderation help. Normally, I would have a small group of friends as administrators, but I’ve decided that it’s fairer for everyone else and better for me to test my leadership abilities if I ask for moderator requests. I have a few people that I think I might put forth for global moderators already, but I’d prefer to test them out as moderators first.
Before requesting to become a moderator, you need to be an accepted member of the forum. You also need to be an active member of the forum and one that is prepared to deal with unruly members, or people that aren’t following the rules correctly. Moderators should be friendly but strict, able to deal with things competently and fairly without being too harsh, but also willing to carry out threats.
There are three types of moderator to apply for. These are:
General Moderator
A general moderator is controller of the general areas of the forum. This includes the General Chat, Forum Games, Artistic Work, Graphic Request, Introductions and Departures, and Affiliates and Links. It also includes keeping an eye on the Chat Box, and making sure that nobody should abuse it in any way. General moderators also have a hand in choosing the member of the month, and put their suggestions forth to the administrators, and also sometimes collaborate with the profile moderators on choosing the character of the month.
Profile Moderator
Profile moderators give a second or third opinion to any profiles that the administrators and/or global moderators have reviewed (or if they haven’t managed to review them yet, give them some helpful tips if it looks like anything could be changed). Although profile moderators do not get the final say in accepting profiles, they can give tips that may be helpful on improving a profile that may need some work or looks like it might be rejected. Profile moderators will put forth a suggestion to the administrators for whom they think should be the character of the month, sometimes collaborating with general moderators on the decision.
RP Moderator
An RP moderator, or a roleplaying moderator, keeps an eye on the roleplaying section of the forum. They make sure that everybody posts the required amount when replying to a roleplay, and they also have a hand with the plots on the forum. They also have to deal with any questions asked about the roleplay, and would be expected to give out a short summary of the roleplay so far if needed.
If you’re interested in becoming a moderator, then please fill out the following form and send it to me in a private message. The more active and rule-abiding you are on the forum, the more likely that it is we’ll accept you. Anybody that becomes a moderator has a chance of being upgraded to a global moderator and, eventually, an administrator. Also, moderators will become part of the staff team and will be granted access to the Staff Café.
The Form
Name: (What you’re going by on the forum.)
Age: (Not necessary if you really don’t want to put it, but it does give me a sort of view on how mature you probably are.)
Date Registered: (Basically, how long have you been a member of the forum.)
Moderator Type: (General, profile or roleplaying moderator?)
Have you ever had any experience in moderating forums before?: (If so, state where, please, if they’re of particular importance.)
In which ways do you think you could help out the Zodiac Goddesses as a forum?: (List them.)
If granted the position, how active will you be and how willing to help out other members will you be?: (The more active you are, the more likely we’ll accept you.)
If you had the chance to become a global moderator or an administrator, would you take it?: (Self explanatory.)
Other reasons for becoming a moderator: (Anything else you can think of? The more you have, the more likely we’ll accept you.)
Please send the form to me in a private message.
At the moment, we're only looking for about three to four moderators. I will post a topic saying when moderator applications are closed.
